The retroreflection of the particles in the products is based on an index of reflection which makes the light reflect in the same direction as the light source e.g. a cars headlights. This trait is called retroreflection. The particles we use have a dispersion angle of approximately 0-4°. This means that if the distance between the cars headlights and the driver’s eyes is 1 meter, the reflection is visible from a distance of 15-20 m. The greater distance the greater the advantage. We have confirmed reflection from a distance of 100 m. This means the driver sees the object from a distance and has time to react. The further the distance (up to 100 m) between the object and the light source, the greater the difference in height can be between the lamp and eyes.

The solvent which is used in order for the particles to become sprayable is of a ‘fatty’ kind that dries quickly. If the spray for some reason was to be poured directly from the can in to water it could effect the ability for fish and other aquatic organisms to absorb oxygen. Substances that are insoluble in water can stick to the gills, in the same way as for example milk would.
The volatility of the solvent means that it dries before it reaches the object you are spraying on, and does not reach the sprayed surface. This means there is no solvent on your clothes when you wash them.
Product Specific Questions
If you don’t see a reflective effect it usually depends on how you test the result. The best way to test the result is to: hold a flashlight at eye-level and shine on the sprayed area; take a photo using a flash, and look at the picture; sit in a car, turn on the headlights, and view the sprayed object from a distance.
You can spray most types of clothing made of natural materials, except leather and mocca. Invisible Bright does not effect the surface of the textile concerning structure, colour or feel.
Light Metallic can be compared to a lacquer, but with a reflective effect, and is intended for permanent use. Light Metallic has a grey colour. It is important that the object is dry, and that dirt, grease and other loose particles are removed before application. The spray attaches to dry surfaces. Some surfaces and certain plastics may need to be treated with a primer before use in order to achieve optimum and durable results over time. Pliable surfaces may stiffen if sprayed with Albedo100 Light Metallic.
With normal wear on e.g. a pair of jeans Invisible Bright may stick up to a week. If you spray on an object such as your jogging shoes or backpack which is not subject to wear in the same degree as a pair of pants, the spray sticks longer.
Since the spray wears away and the effect gradually decreases it is good to regularly control how long Invisible Bright stick to your clothes. If you notice that the reflective effect lessens you should add more spray. When you wash your clothes Invisible Bright disappears which means you need to apply again.
